Players holding onto rare Heroes were forced to FIFA 23 Coins sell them when they noticed prices dropping that put more fuel into the fire. This is understandable, though, considering rarer Hero items can fetch hundreds of dollars in real world value for those who sell them through third-party platforms.
The error has been rectified but the packs are only being available for around 25 minutes however the damage has been caused. EA has yet to comment regarding the issue, and although the market has started to recover, the loss seems to be irreversible and it remains to be seen what the publisher will do to rectify the situation.

Unrest ensued as players sought to sell off their assets as their value plummeted, seeking to make up some of their loss as the market flooded.
FUT Hero items are extremely rare and are therefore highly valuable. Each is associated with the player who has made a significant contribution to their club or has become loved by fans for one reason or another. The Hero item can go for thousands of FUT coins per piece through the virtual transfer market or be FUT 23 Coins for sale obtained by purchasing packs, but there are a slim chance getting one.
